Hop Scotch- Spring Beer and Scotch Festival hopes you can find a chance to join us by volunteering.

Preferred shifts go early, so please submit your request as soon as possible to receive the shift you want.

Volunteer Registration

Age Requirements: You must be 21 years old or older to volunteer.

Free Admission to the event: In addition to a great time, you will receive a free admission to the event. At the end of your shift you will receive a festival cup and tastes. WA State Liquor Law prohibits drinking before or during a shift and this will be strictly enforced.

Saturday Night Shifts 8:00pm-11:45pm: Sign up for the last shift on saturday and recieve a $20 Tap House Grill gift certificate.

Note: Volunteers who are working the late Friday & Saturday night shifts will receive admission on the other festival day they are not working. Sign up for Saturday Night and enjoy the festival on Friday.

Check-In: Please check-in before your scheduled shift start time. Look for the volunteer check-in signs as you approach the Fremont Studios.

Attendance: We rely on your presence and showing up for your shift on time. If your schedule changes please contact us immediately.

Volunteer Orientation: All new volunteers pouring beer are requested to attend Volunteer Orientation. At the meeting you will meet the festival staff and Volunteer Coordinators. We will go over event logistics and get you fully prepared for your shift. Those of you who have previously volunteered for Hop Scotch or Fremont Oktoberfest do not need to attend this orientation. If you have not previously volunteered and are unable to attend the orientation please arrive 15 minutes before your shift to be briefed on festival policies.

TICKET BOOTH/GREETERS: Where the fun begins! After providing the proper identification, our thirsty patrons are ready to try a variety of beers. We need volunteers to assist our trained cashiers and hand out correct amount of change, tickets, and glasses to our guests.

2008 Hop Scotch- Spring Beer and Scotch Festival Volunteer Release and Waiver of Claims

I assume all risks arising at the Hop Scotch- Spring Beer and Scotch Festival, and from transportation to and from the site of this activity. I also understand that it is possible that my participation in this activity may involve injury of some type to another participant or myself.

I release, acquit, and forever discharge the Hop Scotch- Spring Beer and Scotch Festival, Bold Hat Productions, and the Northwest Folklife from any and all claims, demands, damages, costs, action, or liability on account of, or in any way growing out of, any and all known and unknown forseen bodily injuries or death, or damage to property resulting from or by reason of my participation in, or transportation to or from, any activity, work or work site in any way related to the program.

I understand that this is a full and final release and waiver of claims of every nature and kind whatsoever, known and unknown, suspected and unsuspected, and that I will receive no money from the Hop Scotch- Spring Beer and Scotch Festival, Bold Hat Productions, and the Northwest Folklife on any claims or claims resulting from the above-described activity or associated transportation. This release waiver and assumption of risk shall be binding upon myself, heirs, assigns, personal representatives or executors, next of kin, or any other person or entity who may assert any claim arising from or related to my participation in the program/project. This release and waiver is specifically intended to apply even where an injury or cause of action arises from the sole negligence of the released parties.

Further, I agree to reimburse and indemnify all released parties for any amounts which any insurance carriers, government entities, hospitals, or other persons or organizations may recover from them in reimbursement for any amounts paid to me or on my behalf as a result of the above-described activity or associated transportation, by way of contribution, subrogation, indemnity or otherwise.

2008 Hop Scotch- Spring Beer and Scotch Festival: Washington State Liquor Board Rules and Regulations Waiver

In acknowledgment that the Hop Scotch- Spring Beer and Scotch Festival, adheres to all WSLCB (Washington State Liquor Control Board) rules and that it is illegal for anyone under the age of 21 years old to consume alcoholic beverages on festival grounds.

It is illegal for you to drink before or while working for the festival as a volunteer.

WSLCB prohibits the selling, serving or supplying of liquor to an apparently intoxicated person.

By submitting the Volunteer Registration form, the volunteer has read the above information that adheres to the laws of the WSLCB. And they have read the assumption of risks, waiver, and release and they understand it and agree to its terms.
