About The Glenlivet
It all started in the early 1800's, high up in the Scottish Highlands in a remote area perfect for distilling whisky. George Smith, founder of The Glenlivet identified that the Speyside region was the ideal place for a distillery. He was the first distiller to take a license in the parish of Glenlivet to make the most of the regions perfect whisky distilling conditions.
Smith's forward thinking caught on and The Glenlivet has since inspired the entire Speyside region of Scotland, which is now home to over two thirds of the total volume of all single malt whiskies sold throughout the world.
