The event is held indoors at Fremont Studios, which is located at 155 N. 35th St., Seattle, WA 98103, in the heart of Fremont. The event is close to a large selection of restaurants, bars and shopping. Click here for directions
What are the hours of Hop Scotch?

What is the Whiskey Lunch?
The Whiskey Lunch is on Saturday from 11:00am-2:00pm, featuring an all-you-can-enjoy NW Whiskies and single malt Scotch sampling session! Whiskey Lunch ticket holders can also indulge in fabulous food from local eateries and a selection of beer and wine samples. A limited number of tickets are available for this exclusive experience. All food and beverage samples included.
If I go to the Whiskey Lunch, do I receive admission into the festival?
Yes! Ticket holders are invited to stay inside the festival when doors open to the public at 2pm on Saturday. If you wish to continue your tasting experience, you will need to purchase additional tasting tokens.

Fremont has lots of street parking available. There are also many U-park lots in the vicinity.

How much does it cost to get in?
We have four different types of admissions:
- Hops & Spirits Admission - $45 in advance ($50 weekend of), includes 7 beer/wine tasting tokens and 1 self-guided spirit flight. (Spirit flight includes your choice of either one NW Whiskey flight featuring 6 – ¼ oz tastes OR one Scotch flight featuring 5 – ¼ oz tastes)
- Spirits Only Admission - $45 in advance ($50 weekend of), includes both the Scotch and Northwest Whiskey self-guided flights. (NW Whiskey flight features 6 – ¼ oz tastes and Scotch flight includes 5 – ¼ oz tastes)
- Hops Only Admission - $30 in advance ($35 weekend of), includes 7 beer/wine tasting tokens
- Festival Admission - $20 in advance and at the door, includes entrance and tickets for complimentary non-alcoholic beverages at the Bottle Shop
All tickets are good for one day only.
Can I buy advanced tickets?
Yes! Advance tickets go on sale six weeks before the event. At the event, present your ticket at the door for a 5oz commemorative tasting glass and seven beer/wine tokens. We will still have to check your ID at the festival when you present your ticket. Commemorative tasting glasses are available while supplies last.
What are the benefits of buying advance tickets?
When you buy tickets in advance you save time in line at the event!
What is the appropriate ID to get in?
The WA Liquor Control Board will accept 1) a driver's license with a photo from any state; 2) a current passport; 3) a DMV identification card; and 4) a military card. The state identification card and/or the military card must bear a picture of the person, the person's name, address, date of birth, a physical description and the signature of the person.
What is Hop Scotch's Guest Conduct Policy?
The festival has a strict alcohol policy that is designed to protect the guests and the public from alcohol related incidents. All festival guests are expected to maintain responsible and appropriate behavior at all times. Any behavior defying the guest conduct policy as determined by event management can result in ejection and possible arrest.
Event management has the right to refuse entry to any guest deemed intoxicated upon arrival to the Festival. Additionally, the festival has the right to remove any guest from the premises who is intoxicated or causing a disturbance or is potentially dangerous to himself/herself or other guests.
Ejected guests will not receive a refund for their tickets or be compensated in any way.
Inappropriate behavior includes, but is not limited to:
- Drunk and disorderly conduct
- Fighting or challenging others to fight
- Bringing weapons of any kind into festival
- Interference with the event, or participants of the event in any way
- Throwing, tossing, or discharging any object
- Standing on chairs/seats
- Taunting or using offensive language
- Disturbing other guest's enjoyment of the event
- Failure to comply with festival personnel
- Violating festival rules, regulations, and policies
- Violating any local, state, or federal laws
- Alcohol brought from outside the festival
- Attempting to enter the festival with a fraudulent ID
The festival reserves the right to deny entry or eject from the facility guests displaying inappropriate behavior, as determined by event management.
Does Hop Scotch accept credit cards or checks?
Hop Scotch accepts cash, Mastercard and Visa. Hop Scotch does not accept checks.
Is there re-entry at Hop Scotch?
Hop Scotch is a No Re-Entry Event. We will provide a variety of food options and access to a smoker's patio connected to the event. Please plan accordingly as you will not be able to return to the festival after you leave.
Can I bring my child?
No. This is a 21 and over only event.
What is the deal with glasses and tokens?
Okay, so you're in. Now what? Well, in order to sample beer or wine at the festival you must have the official commemorative tasting glass. Servers will not pour beer or wine into anything else. Hops & Spirits Admission and Hops Only Admission include a commemorative tasting glass that holds 5oz. Servers do not accept cash. Tokens for beer/wine are included in Hops & Spirits Admission and Hops Only Admission. Additional tokens can be purchased at the Hop Stop booth inside the event. Tokens cost $2.00 each and one token (unless otherwise noted) will get you one taste of your choice of beer or wine. Tokens are non-refundable. *If you lose your glass you can purchase a new one for $5 at the Hop Stop inside the event.
What if I just want to do the Scotch or Whiskey tasting?
You will need to purchase a Spirits Only Admission. If you decide to later do beer or wine tasting, you can purchase a glass for $5 and tokens at the Hop Stop booth. Additional Scotch or Whiskey flights can be purchased at the Hop Stop for $15.
When do admission and extra token sales cease?
On both Friday and Saturday admission and tokens sales will stop at 11:00pm, precisely one half-hour before the taps are closed at 11:30pm. Be aware of this when scheduling your visit to the festival. We want you to be happy. So arrive early and allow yourself plenty of time to enjoy the festival.
When do taps shut down?
Taps will shut down at 11:30pm. The event will announce a last call at 11:15pm. No beer will be served after 11:30pm. The festival closes at 12:00am.
Is there any food on site?
Yes! City Catering will be selling delicious food at the Hop Stop Cafe.
Is smoking allowed?
There is no smoking allowed inside the festival, but there is a smoking patio available for guests. We ask that you do not litter and use the cigarette cans located on the smoking patio. Remember that Hop Scotch is a no re-entry event.
What about designated drivers?
If you are part of a group and plan to drink, assign a designated driver or take a taxi. Designated drivers can purchase a Festival Only Admission for $20 at the door or online in advance. This admission receives water and soda tickets.
What if I purchase a Festival Admission, but decide I want to drink?
You may purchase a tasting glass and tokens at the Hop Stop booth located inside the event.
What if the person I'm with doesn't drink? Do they have to pay?
Guests (including designated drivers) who are not drinking, will have to purchase a Festival Only Admission for $20 in order to enter the festival. This can be paid at the door or online in advance.
Please know your limit and have a safe tasting experience. Be respectful, drink responsibly and call a cab.
